Our ProgramNew Freedom House is here to teach young men how to live a life free from alcohol and other mind altering substances. Our programs are limited to young men over 18 years of age. Most of our client base is in their early to mid-twenties but we have had clients range from 18 to 32 years old.
New Freedom offers two programs; New Freedom Transitional Living House and New Freedom Recovery House. The two programs have been designed to work together to teach young men how to live successful lives in recovery. Additionally, we offer a DUI certification program to help clients regain their driving privileges as well as an online family program. If necessary, clients have access to a medical detox facility and we can provide transportation to and from the location. This cost is independent of New Freedom and more information can be provided upon request. New Freedom Transitional Living House Primary Care Program Our six-week transitional living house is on the cutting edge of today's treatment technology. We utilize the Valley Hope Association’s AC/ESS counseling program. This program has been in use for a number of years and has proven to be 12% more effective than traditional Intensive Outpatient (IOP) style counseling. AC/ESS, or “Accessible Care and Effective Support Services” is an online based IOP style group treatment which resembles that of today’s online classroom.
This cutting edge technology has become time proven effective and to make sure our clients are getting a maximum array of services, we also offer four hours of in-person group therapy each week. Our counselor, Bonnie Bianchi, carries multiple certifications including; State Board Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor (CADC), National Board Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC II), Internationally Board Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor (ICADC), and Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC).
On top of the combined 13 hours of weekly counseling, our six week program also offers an admissions intake session, one-on-one sessions with a counselor, guided work out sessions at the YMCA, a solid introduction to the world of 12-step recovery, life skills, and access to two AA meetings per day. All transportation will be provided by our staff members who are highly active in the Prescott recovery community. Clients will obtain a sponsor and begin working a 12-step program before they complete New Freedom Transitional Living House. Secondary Care Program If the family, client, or our staff feel that sober living is still not appropriate after completing the six week program we have designed a step-down Secondary Care transitional living program. In Secondary Care the client will have access to four hours per week of traditional IOP therapy with Bonnie as well as daily house meetings, transportation to 12-step meetings, and access to the YMCA. New Freedom Transitional Living Secondary Care will give the client an opportunity to take smaller steps towards independence by continuing treatment while thoroughly working a 12-step program.
The idea behind our transitional living house is that our clients need to be thoroughly educated about their condition and ready for their sober living experience; this means that they must begin to work a 12-step program and here at New Freedom Transitional Living House we will start that process with them. Upon assessment and successful completion of New Freedom Transitional Living House clients will move on to New Freedom Recovery House which is a six month program dedicated to teaching young men how to stay sober once they are out on their own. New Freedom Recovery House New Freedom Recovery House is where we begin to find freedom from our problems with alcohol and drugs. Clients live with a group of men for the purpose of taking steps toward principles of recovery, gaining new levels of self-esteem and serenity that they never dreamed possible. Members of the house are required to work all 12 steps and find employment in order to become self-supporting; paying their own rent for the final five months of their stay is required. Our name implies that our clients will learn how to find a new freedom and a new happiness out of life. Clients practice the daily challenges of life free from the need for alcohol or other mood altering chemicals. New Freedom's goal is to promote freedom, happiness and peace in a setting that is conducive to a complete and fulfilling recovery. Clients at New Freedom Recovery House are required to comply with various recovery-oriented standards. Such standards include the prohibition of alcohol and all mood altering drugs and chemicals; the attendance of in-house and external meetings along with respect for each other’s privacy, safety and possessions.
New Freedom Recovery House immerses its members in traditional 12-step programs while recognizing that fun, making a living, and enjoying healthy relationships with family, friends, and the community are critical components of a successful and fulfilling recovery. Living according to New Freedom standards may be the most difficult undertaking of our clients' lives. These standards demand surrender of old ideas and agendas. Our experience can be the clients shortcut past the frustrating and incomprehensible demoralization they have inflicted and endured. Their strength is renewed by practicing for the next right action and learning to ask for help. They cannot undertake this challenge alone and we will do whatever it takes to give them the opportunity to live life...free!
